Using Low Detail 3D Models and Animation as a Planning Tool – Part II

This is an update to the blog I posted on 10/19/09 Low Detail 3D Models and Animation as a Planning Tool.

Our client (Gramor Development) retained our services again last September to further refine and enhance the presentation we created for them over a year ago. Their original development plan had evolved quite a bit over the last year so they needed the presentation to not only reflect the changes to the design but to also communicate the lifestyle of the project in a more dramatic photorealistic way.

The result was a 3 minute HD presentation complete with aerial tracked video (see below).

Also, I am pleased to report that on December 10th the Vancouver City Council voted unanimously to approve the general plan from our client Columbia Waterfront, LLC (aka Gramor Development) to develop the Columbia Waterfront project in Vancouver, WA. This is a 32 acre mixed-use development with retail, office, parks and residential.

Read all about it here.

Once again this is proof demonstrating that high quality 3D modeling and animation presentations are extremely effective in helping planning commissions and city counsel members understand and visualize a project which can significantly increases the odds of an approval.

What an amazing video representation! I can see why it was unanimously approved. Even though I am intimately familiar with the area, I don’t think I could have visualized the end product without the help of your video. My husband and I did the sales and marketing for several Hayden Island real estate condominium developments (on the Portland side of the Columbia River). We are both extremely excited to see the end result. Kudos to you Focus 360!

Thank you Kirstin! We can’t wait to animate the next phase of this project and provide the sales tools required to get it all sold!
