iPad and Your Sales Office

There has been a lot of hype around Apple’s announcement of their iPad, both positive and negative. Some call it a glorified iTouch while others say it will revolutionize personal computing as we know it. Regardless of where you sit on the iFence, one thing I’m sure of is that it will not go the way of the Newton (yes, I’m going way back!)!
But why talk about a new gadget in the Focus 360 Blog? Well this particular gadget could be an amazing tool for new home sales. Yes, new home sales!
In its simplest form, the iPad can untether the sales person from the proverbial closing office. Imagine having access to the topo table, or the floor plans, or even the CRM and contract right in your hand. (see our ISC app on the iPad below). Add architectural renderings and 3D animations for a complete presentation!
And just to get your juices going, what if you could walk the model homes with an iPad that actually knows what room you’re in and can point out the features and upgrade opportunities? What if you could see the pricing of these upgrades and “check” them as you go? Now you have a running total of the cost of your new home and the sales team has a bill of materials for the contract!
Now, before you think to yourself “I can do that now with a notebook or tablet computer”, think again. The iPad weighs in at a mere one and a half pounds and is the size of a typical journal. Your notebook weighs at least 3 times that if you’re lucky! Most weigh about 4 to 5 times an iPad. And no sales team will want to lug that around.
Call me crazy but it sure seems to me that this little eBook reader may revolutionize how the savvy sales team interacts with their home buyer! They start shipping at the end of the month. Did you place your iOrder?

Hi Steve – let me know when you get your presentation up and running on it. I want to see it! And by the way, Steve G really needs one. He was in here yesterday, demo-ing some 360 tools, and we were like…. come on, ya old dog (computer). let’s go already.

Steve, I love your vision… would like to see your demonstration as soon as possible, because like you, we belive this can revolutionize the relationship between sales team, home and customer.
